Zatanna: Bring Down the House #3 by Mariko Tamaki continues to delve into the mysterious world of the Order of the Rabbits, a secret society of magicians. This issue takes Zatanna on a thrilling adventure through a magical dimension, where she faces off against a powerful adversary known as the Destroyer of Souls.
Tamaki’s writing is witty and engaging, capturing Zatanna’s unique personality and her unwavering determination. The author skillfully weaves together elements of magic, mystery, and action, creating a captivating narrative.
The artwork by Daniel Henriques is visually stunning, bringing the magical dimension to life with vibrant colors and intricate details. The depiction of the Destroyer of Souls is particularly impressive, conveying a sense of menace and power.
While the issue does a good job of advancing the plot, it can feel a bit slow at times. The exposition can be heavy-handed, and some readers might find the pacing uneven. Additionally, the resolution of the conflict feels a bit rushed, leaving some questions unanswered.

The art was by Javier Rodrigues, not Daniel Henriques (who was not anywhere in the credits that I could see). Javier’s art seems to be the very best feature of this book…so it seems a shame to get his name wrong.
