THE DISPATCH
Trapped without allies, weapons, or hope, Batman faces his most desperate fight yet. The villainous Batman of Zur-En-Arrh, twisted counterpart from a bizarre dimension, tightens his grip on Gotham City. Meanwhile, Vandal Savage makes his play for power, and Amanda Waller keeps a watchful eye on the chaos. Can Bruce Wayne find a way to escape and reclaim his city, or will Zur-En-Arrh’s Batman strike a dark bargain that will doom Gotham?

Batman #147 throws the Dark Knight into a no-win scenario, raising the stakes for the “Dark Prisons” storyline. Zdarsky crafts a tense atmosphere, with Bruce on the run and his city under siege by two Batmen. The arrival of Vandal Savage adds another layer of complexity, keeping readers guessing about who the real threat is. I truly think fans are going to love this issue.

However, with so much going on, some plot threads feel underdeveloped. Batman #147 focuses heavily on Bruce’s struggle and Zur-En-Arrh’s rise to power, leaving Vandal Savage’s motives a bit murky. Additionally, the cliffhanger ending, while intriguing, might leave some readers frustrated.

ART
The artwork by Jimenez and Mendonça is phenomenal. Jimenez delivers dynamic fight scenes and stunning visuals of a Gotham under siege. Mendonça’s art seamlessly complements Jimenez’s style, particularly in the scenes featuring Amanda Waller.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Batman #147 is a thrilling chapter in the “Dark Prisons” saga. Zdarsky masterfully builds tension and showcases a desperate Batman. The phenomenal art by Jimenez and Mendonça brings the story to life. While some plot threads feel rushed, this issue is a must-read for Batman fans eager to see how the Dark Knight will overcome seemingly insurmountable odds. I highly recommend giving this issue and series a fair shake if you haven’t done so already.
