THE DISPATCH

Joshua Williamson continues to impress with his unique style of storytelling in Green Arrow #9, taking readers on an exhilarating journey through the world of Oliver Queen as he tries to discover where Roy is and why he’s working for Waller. In this issue, we see Green Arrow facing off against Waller’s Peacemaker crew as they take over the Hall of Justice.

The action is fast-paced and intense, with Williamson skillfully balancing explosive fight scenes with moments of introspection and character development. Green Arrow’s inner conflict is palpable as he continues to grapple with the consequences of his actions leaving Williamson to develop what he thinks will be a clever cliffhanger. And sadly, it’s not at all.

The artwork by this talented team of artists captures the Hall of Justice well with stunning detail, while also bringing the dynamic energy of the action sequences to life. Each panel explodes with intensity, drawing readers deeper into the story with every turn of the page. There is no doubt that the illustrations were a highlight of Green Arrow #9.

Speaking of highlights, another highlight of this issue was the introduction of a compelling new villain, whose motives and backstory are shrouded in mystery, and even the return of Diggle provides a sense of appeal. Williamson does an excellent job of setting up future conflicts and expanding the Green Arrow mythos, keeping readers eagerly anticipating what comes next.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Overall, Green Arrow #9 is a must-read for fans of the Emerald Archer and anyone who appreciates expertly crafted storytelling and breathtaking artwork. With its thrilling action, complex characters, and intriguing plot twists, this issue is sure to leave readers hungry for more. I’m not quite sold on the cliffhanger nor do I buy Amanda Waller’s angle yet. However, we will see how this story progresses given a few more issues. Fans, Joshua Williamson continues to prove why he is one of the premier writers at DC, delivering another solid installment in the ongoing saga of Green Arrow.

  1. I don’t like how DC is trying to make Waller into a Lex Luthor type threat. Even in the DCEU Waller was not this OP in terms of beefing with the top dog superheroes. The story was OK to me, but it just Queen following narrative breadcrumbs…. (Geez Peacemaker’s costume is so ridiculous) The unfortunate truth about this comic is that the most interesting aspect of it is Amanda Waller, not Green Arrow….
