STORY
Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #10 written by Alyssa Wong with pencils by Ray-Anthony Height is a tie-in prelude issue to the upcoming “Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters” crossover event. In this issue, Doctor Aphra & Sana Starros continue their mission to retrieve the path engine for Lady Domina, head of the Tagge Corporation. They are met by General Vukorah who has her own plans to steal the new experimental hyperdrive engine. The issue also continues the subplot storyline of Lucky, Ariole, Wen Delphis, and the Sixth Kin.

OVERALL THOUGHTS
Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #10 wraps up the storyline of Doctor Aphra’s current mission. It is more of a “conclusion” issue than a “prelude” issue. I understand that it is a lead-in to the upcoming “Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters” crossover event, but there is nothing here that obviously connects it to anything currently in the other Star Wars titles. Alyssa Wong has given us an overall fun tale to conclude this storyline, but readers picking up this book expecting it to be a “prelude” type of issue will be disappointed. The artwork by Ray-Anthony Height is fine and although different from the pencils by Minkyu Jung, it’s close enough to not distract the reader from the overall flow of this multi-issue storyline.
FINAL THOUGHTS
Star Wars: Doctor Aphra #10 concludes the current storyline. That’s what it does. If you are currently reading the title, overall I do not think you will be disappointed. If you are not reading it, this is not a good place to start. As a Star Wars fan, I’m looking forward to the upcoming “Star Wars: War of the Bounty Hunters” crossover event. But to call this issue a “prelude” is in this reviewer’s opinion a publicity stunt.
