The Dispatch

Keldor escapes to Eternos. Expecting to reunite with his power it is then revealed that his father is no more and there is an entirely different king now or is there? Meanwhile, Hordak realizes that the Weaver is orchestrating the paths of him and Keldor and is in pursuit of Keldor to warn him of this manipulation before it is too late leading to their goals being compromised by the inclusion of The Weaver in their dynamic of The Master and The Acolyte. The plot of Masters of The Universe: Revolution #3 was beautifully set up by the reveal of the last issue showing the reader that the voices in the heads Keldor and Hordak are of the same person.

Keldor’s destiny is referenced multiple times and by the end of the issue his path as Skeletor is solidified. The dynamic between Keldor and Hordak is definitely the best part of the series. Two men who have no choice but to put their faith in each other is one of the most interesting aspects in recent comics. The characters’ interactions in this issue are also top-notch and rather exciting.

The Art

The Art of the Book is beautifully done. The characters are well-proportioned and drawn like muscular heroes. The style complements the story well and the character designs are reminiscent of classic designs while modernizing them with elements from the new Netflix shows brought in. The coloring does feel flat at times and that reduces the impact of certain panels but the Inks and the pencils make up for it.

Final Thoughts

Masters of The Universe: Revolution #3 is well-written and well-thought-out. This is one of the most interesting stories coming out right even though the colors might not support it at times and it is worth your money. Do not miss out on this layered and riveting story.
