THE DISPATCH

Blood Hunt #3, written by Jed MacKay with art by Pepe Larraz and colors by David Curiel, plunges us deeper into the blood-soaked world overrun by vampires.  This issue intensifies the desperation, deepens the character conflicts, and throws a shocking twist into the mix, leaving readers eager for the next chapter. MacKay doesn’t shy away from depicting the horrifying consequences of the vampire invasion. The opening pages showcase the devastation within the Sanctum Sanctorum, a stark reminder of the heroes’ losses.  Larraz’s art and Curiel’s colors effectively convey the grimdark atmosphere, with blood-stained panels and desolate cityscapes.

Blood Hunt #3 delves deeper into the conflict between the surviving Avengers and the Midnight Suns, a group of vampire hunters.  The heroes grapple with grief, distrust, and their differing approaches to fighting the enemy.  MacKay’s writing injects moments of tension and heated arguments, showcasing the strain on a fractured alliance in the face of overwhelming odds. One of the biggest mysteries of the series is the current state of Doctor Strange.  Weakened and erratic, he seems more like a liability than a leader. This issue explores his internal struggle, hinting at a potential threat lurking within the Sorcerer Supreme himself.  MacKay effectively keeps readers guessing about Strange’s true condition, adding another layer of intrigue to the narrative.

FINAL THOUGHTS
