THE DISPATCH
Saladin Ahmed’s Wolverine run has been praised for returning Logan to his gritty, introspective roots, and Wolverine #10 may be the most emotionally resonant—and brutal—chapter yet. In the best tradition of this title, the past isn’t just haunting Logan—it’s out for blood.

Picking up threads that have been woven subtly through the last few issues (especially #6 and #8), Wolverine #10 sends Logan on a path that leads directly into a long-buried childhood trauma. But this isn’t just emotional excavation—this is a trap, one set by a classic Wolverine villain who makes a shocking, dramatic return. No spoilers, but if you’ve been waiting for a true wildcard to enter Ahmed’s narrative, this is your issue.

Ahmed continues to walk a tightrope between introspection and action. While the physical stakes are high—Wolverine is hunted in a savage, almost horror-movie-style showdown—it’s the emotional cuts that land hardest. The flashbacks are brief but sharp, handled with just enough restraint to let the reader feel the weight of what Logan remembers without slipping into melodrama. As with the most effective Wolverine stories, violence and vulnerability go hand in hand.

Martín Cóccolo’s art hits a new stride here. His depiction of Logan’s memory-scape is washed in grim tones and fragmented panels, contrasting beautifully with the explosive energy of the present-day battle. When the mystery villain strikes, it’s sudden, savage, and visually stunning—a splash page that all but howls off the paper.

Fans of the current run have praised how Ahmed has reframed Logan—not just as a fighter, but as a man still grappling with who he is and what he’s done. Issue #10 deepens that theme while pushing the series into its next phase with a twist that absolutely no one saw coming.

FINAL THOUGHTS
Wolverine #10 is the kind of issue this character was built for: visceral, tragic, and feral. Saladin Ahmed continues to prove he understands the soul beneath the claws, and with the return of a major villain, the road ahead looks more dangerous—and personal—than ever.
