STORY:

We open our issue as Wolverine and Louise chat while overlooking the beautiful city of Paris, France. Louise is at a crossroads of sorts.

Being not fully human or vampire she’s of the mind that the Nightguard should put her down. Wolverine showing his seldom seen soft side encourages Louise to keep the darkness at bay.

And to only let it out when the opportunity presents it self!

After an extended exciting opening scene we get to the so called “meat” of our story. That being some backstory of how Wolverine’s blood allows vampires to be “day walkers” and also how X-Force and another unlikely ally may turn the tides and thwart Dracula’s plans!

The whole premise of this story is something I give Percy a lot of credit for. A mutant with a healing factor and vampires who have a very unique need for the aforementioned healing factor. It’s clever and very well done.

ART:

Scot Eaton does a great job on pencils. The facial structure he gives Wolverine is very well done. It’s actually amongst the best I’ve ever seen, in my opinion.

As usual, we get a fantastic variant. This one courtesy of Mico Suayan.

FINAL THOUGHTS:

While certainly not a must-read, Wolverine #12 is a very solid solo book for quite possibly the most famous mutant at all. I love Dracula stories, so I may have enjoyed it more than most. A solid issue nonetheless.
