The Next Batman UNMASKED and DC Future State Trailer

The line-wide DC event called FUTURE STATE will encompass two months of stories while featuring an assortment of bi-weekly and oversize collections, miniseries, and even one-shot stories. The trailer below features digitized cover art, effects, and some stunning narration juxtaposed over some outstanding art. DC FUTURE STATE spirals out of DARK NIGHTS: DEATH METAL #7, which arrives January 5th. Look for brand new takes on BATMAN, WONDER WOMAN, SUPERMAN, TEEN TITANS, the JUSTICE LEAGUE, and so much more. Additionally, these new takes on DC COMICS heroes have sprouted some interesting speculation, such as who the new BATMAN is. This new Batman’s identity is a mystery right now. However, fans have theorized that it is an adult Luke Fox. Luke Fox is the son of Lucius Fox and briefly assumed the mantle of Batwing during the New 52 era. Well, what’s in store for this new BATMAN?

Gotham City has been overrun by this militarized police force known as the Magistrate. According to Batman group editor Ben Abernathy, the Magistrate can be compared to Star Wars’ Sith Lords.  The Magistrate has remade Gotham into a police state and prohibited all forms of vigilantism, which has coerced Gotham’s heroes to go belowground. But fear not BATMAN fans, Bruce Wayne will take up the mantle of the DARK DETECTIVE in this new future adyer being presumed dead, which will ultimately lead to the origin of the next Batman. I can’t wait for January!
