Fire and Ice #1 Review – Fire and Ice #1 is a prequel to the Fire and Ice animated film from 1983. The film was directed and produced by Ralph Bakshi, written by Roy Thomas and Gerry Conway, with designs by the great Frank Frazetta. And like most Frank Frazetta work, it’s filled with voluptuous women (wearing the least amount possible) and dark fantasy landscapes. The film’s pretty amazing (check it out on Tubi). Vampirella and Dyna Might (who’s the Dynamite universe equivalent of Mary Marvel) are now living on Projection 1948 (AKA Earth-1948), which is an Earth that’s currently locked in the year 1948, working undercover to find out who the identity of Mr. Fix and take him out. Mr. Fix is a crime lord making millions off of Elixir, a drug peddled on the streets that is highly addictive and gives some people super powers, turning them into raging monsters. Elvira in Monsterland #1 Review – You crazy kids and your multiverses. You’re not satisfied with destroying just one Earth, are you? Now you’ve got to destroy a million of’em! Poor Elvira just wants to relax and binge rusty old vampire flicks…err, I mean “classic films”…on Deathflix ™, but now she’s got to save the multiverse from Vlad the Impaler, who’s jumping from universe to universe, popping into vampire films throughout history and collecting every version of cinematic vampire for a hideous plot he has devised. So once again, it’s Elvira to the rescue! Hang on tight, she jumps through so many universes in Elvira in Monsterland #1 your head will spin like that girl in “The Exorcist”.
