This story is about a report named Jackie McGee, who becomes a main character in this series. She’s reporting another disturbance involving the Hulk and this other young man who killed his girlfriend. Somehow, this guy was also infused with gamma radiation. This new gamma guy was screaming about a “green door” and about how he was somehow “possessed”. The Hulk takes this new gamma guy down and readers discover that Hulk appears to be tracking down all gamma radiation like a hound dog. The issue ends with Jackie needing clarity and calling Walter Langkowski (Sasquatch) as a reference for her article on the Hulk.

Immortal Hulk #4

Writer: Al Ewing

Artist: Joe Bennett, Ruy José, Paul Mounts, Cory Petit, and Alex Ross

Price: $3.99

Released: August 1st, 2018

Rapid Fire Recap:

This issue is more of a trip down memory lane showing the history of Walter and Bruce together and how their lives intertwined. We also get to see that Jackie’s life was also impacted by the Hulk. Moreover, Walter talks about a “green door” that opened and let a being known as Tanaraq into him as he initially had his transformations back in the day. So, Walter and Jackie go into a dive bar looking for answers after a Hulk siting/destruction, and Walter gets stabbed in the back sending him to the hospital. Meanwhile, Banner sneaks in and has a talk with Jackie. Banner wants to know about Walter’s prognosis and appears worried since night time is coming and that’s when these gamma monsters (including himself) change. The issue ends with Walter turning into Sasquatch on the operating table and destruction on the horizon.

Immortal Hulk #5

Writer: Al Ewing

Artist: Joe Bennett, Ruy José, Paul Mounts, Cory Petit, and Alex Ross

Price: $3.99

Released: September 5th, 2018

Rapid Fire Recap:

It appears as though readers find out that anyone afflicted with this measure of gamma radiation open this “green door” and can’t die. So, presumably, Walter died on the table and woke up like Sasquatch. Next, Sasquatch kills Banner in a confrontation and later wakes up as the Hulk. The two behemoths tangle until Banner realizes that through that “green door” when Walter came back to life… came Bruce’s Dad instead of Walter. So, we learn that other entities can come through the green door when someone dies and it now seems like Banner’s Dad is somehow present on the other side of that green door. Now, his Dad is somehow possessing Sasquatch!!! As the issue ends, Hulk literally absorbs all the gamma with this huge gamma hug taking the “Sasquatch” out of him. However, it appears as though when Hulk absorbed the gamma from Walter, he took his ability from him of becoming Sasquatch AND along with that came Banner’s Dad who’s now inside the Hulk!!!
