Writer Jason Aaron and artist R.M, Guéra, the creators of the seminal crime series SCALPED, reunite for a new ongoing series of stark and brutal biblical noir, which begins with a SPECIAL OVER-SIZED DEBUT ISSUE featuring thirty pages of story.

“And the earth was filled with violence.” Genesis 6:11

Its 1655 years after Eden, and life on Earth has already gone to hell. The world of man is a place of wanton cruelty and wickedness. Prehistoric monsters and stone-age marauders roam the land. Murder and destruction are the rule of the day. Humankind is a failed experiment. This is life before the Flood. The story of man on the verge of his first apocalypse. Welcome to the world of THE GODDAMNED.

Quick Review of the Series:

As many of Jason Aaron’s titles go, the Goddamned is equally (if not more) fierce, violent, and vigorously explosive, just like many of his other titles. If you’re an art over story reader, R.M. Guéra and Giulia Brusco illustrations are visually remarkable, incredibly vivid, insanely vibrant, capture the tension perfectly, and are no doubt suited for mature audiences. So, please be advised before venturing down this comic avenue.

However, as explosive as this story is, it’s finest moments are when Aaron mixed familiar biblical tones with his own unique blend in a wildly ambitious way that will genuinely cause fans to stop and think. The story is cerebral, virtuous, ethical, and spiritual in a way that ensues so much critical thinking and animosity. Nevertheless, as controversial as it may seem, it’s also quite satisfying with its harsh undertones and gritty disposition. The Goddamned is fast-paced, full of energy, potent, and extremely powerful.
